Key Fob Not Working.

My keyless entry fob just stopped working the other day. I can't find my extra set of keys so this is the only key fob I have. I haven't noticed anything else not working. I've replaced the battery. I read the owners manual and it said something about re-synchronizing, tried that. I ordered another key fob from GMC but I'm afraid there is something wrong with the truck not the key fob. By the way my truck is a 00 sierra 1500. Please help me figure out what is wrong so I can fix the problem.

If you have a soldering iron, fix it. I have done several. Silver solder works best.

My key fob stopped working on my 2000 GMC 1500 Serria this week as well. I didn't replace the battery yet, but if that doesn't work, where was the wire soldering you did to fix the issue? Please advise.

Mine works intermitently....ive changed the battery and did the reprograming as well and its still tempermental......mine is a 2000 as well.......seems like there is a common problem going on.....I'de like to know which wire was soldered as well.

The soldering I was referring to was the battery hold down tab in the fob back to the circuit board.

Sorry it took so long to respond guys, the battery holder had popped loose from the solder joint. I re-soldered it and the effin thing quit workin completely. I bought two new ones off ebay. I payed $36 a peice and they both came with a blank gm key.
