Bose Question

Are there two different types of Bose systems in the 2008 Silverado? The reason I ask, on the factory navigation radio, isn't there supposed to be a DSP option to change the sound levels?

There are two different Bose GMC Sierra setups (The Bose in the Denali has an extra center dash speaker) but I am not aware of 2 different ones in the Silverado

Thanks for the reply. Maybe my software for the navigation unit needs to be updated. I think I might be missing something in the audio settings.

I believe a have that setting in the audio options on my Bose units. Now I'm going to have to check on the drive home.

I know on the GMT800 trucks there was two different BOSE systems,If you had a Chevy or a GMC without the Denali package you had the base BOSE system.

However if you had a Denali or an Escalade you had the uplevel BOSE system,this was determined with the RPO code "Y91".

From what I can tell on the GMT900 trucks,It looks like all the Chevy's and GMC's have only one BOSE system,RPO "UQA",And the Cadillac Escalade's have there own BOSE system,RPO "UQS".

Yeah i was working the parts counter at a local GM franchise and added the bose system to my 04 sierra, not bad as far as cost that sort of thing but i didn't get the sub woofer or the bose under console amp. I had just highlighted the Y91 option code but didn't see another bose code, MS3Dale correct me if im wrong but I thought the only difference was the amount of speakers or something.

I thought there was only one Bose system for the new trucks. I might make a call to the dealer to see what they say.

There is one for the trucks, and there is a different bose setup for the escalades too.

The amplifiers & some speakers are different.
