Maf Sensor Question

i have a 2004 sierra witht eh 5.3l i hvae cai, shorties headers, 40 series muffler, predator 91 tune. my stock maf has no screen and was wondering if i got a grantelli performance maf would it be worth the 300 bucks and how much hp shold i expect to gain?would the gains be noticable?

Lots of discussion of this before, mainly the extra hp came from the ones who got rid of the screen. I would say not worth the 300 bucks for 5 hp maybe at a higher rpm.

Put your screen back on. Your screwing with the pcm and it will F up your optimal A/F ratio. The screen evens out the airflow over the sensor.

Save your money. If you really want to spend the $300, you could just give it to me, that would make about as much sense as the Granitelli.

not going to to it then oh and btw, the screen wasnt in it when i bought the truck...so i went out and bought a cai that day.

i have that mass airflow sensor, noticed, well nothing really, nothing has really changed, so i guess it can stay there, 300 dollars outta pocket

I have a grantelli on my truck as well. Got it for a deal on ebay for 101 dollars. I noticed a diff but i hvae other things to compliment it. The most noticeable diff is amount of gas pedal it takes to do the same acclearation in relation to the way it was before. It does the most noticeable difference is when my 35 foot gooseneck trailer is behind it. It will move the trailer much easier.I don't think it does as much a HP gain as it does torque.
