dec 15th me and a friend are flying to maryland so he can get a 91 formula. and will be driving it back. just wondering if there is anything worth while to see on the trip back? so far his plan is to drive about 8 hours a day with maybe a stop or two. hes trying to make it more then a trip to get a car, he seems to want an adventure or something. i plan on getting some boring photos. maybe some one out there can offer some options or hints/tips.

Thats almost the entire length across the country, so there is plenty to see.  It just depends on what you like and what route you are taking.  Give us some more details and I'm sure we can help you find a few spots.

Well heck, if your coming down that far, you might as well make the 100 or so mile trip down to Richmond, VA and come see me! :sigh: J\K

Actually, There's quite a few things in Maryland alone worth interest.

But like JP said, I need more details on your trip. (I.E. How much time do you have to kill? What are some of the states you are going to pass through? ETC.)

i dont know if we really have any time to kill or not, hes planning 5 days. and can extend up to 7 if need be. from what hes told me well be taking I-80 just about the whole way.  dont believe he wants to do any real prolonged stops, i dont really know what the plans are yet. i'm mainly going along for the ride. free trip across the country. something i've never done before.

Spend some time at Baltimore's inner harbor.  Lots of things to see, do, drink and eat.  Depending on your route home, a little time in West Virginia is always good.  Nice folks and lots of wild country to hike around in.  Gatlinburg, TN is a nice stop.  I've always found friendly people in Kansas City, MO.  I'm sure anywhere you go you'll find neat local stuff and local folks that'll be happy to tell you about it.

Driving just 8 hours a day it's going to take forever to get across the US.  Anyway to arm-twist your friend into 12 hour days on the road?
