Transmission Problem (?) With 2006 Buick Ranier

I'm here visiting my fiance and driving her 2006 Oldsmobile Ranier (basically a Trailblazer/Envoy) and it has a problem with the tranny.

She has had the truck taken to the dealer and several auto places who supposedly can't recreate the problem, although they did change out the fluid, checked the levels, and checked for leaks...

She doesn't drive it rough, never off road, always on schedule with maintenance. The truck has 33k miles, and about 95% are cruising on the highway back and forth to work and often she has to drive to conferences that are several hours away...so the majority aren't even start-stop miles.

Anyhow, sometimes when you put the truck into gear from park and step on the gas it's as if the truck is in neutral and won't go...then it will kick into gear with a small jolt and you are good to go. It never kicks out of gear or causes the problem once it is already set in Drive, only when first shifting from Park or Reverse and into Drive, and then maybe only one out of every 20 times or so.

It's driving her nuts, but I am more concerned this is an onset of a problem with the transmission. Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.

Man I have never heard of an Oldsmobile Rainer. J/K

Not sure, and this is just a suggestion, could it be that it is the normal delay from shifting from park to drive? Depending upon the conditions (outside temp etc.) it can take some time for the transmission to shift from park to drive. This may not be the problem, but since it isn't doing it while you are already in drive, this is the first thing that comes to my mind.

Someone more knowledgeable may be able to come along after me to give a better diagnosis.

EDIT: don't know if this is necessary information, but which engine does it have?
