1998 Gmc Seirra Wont Start

My 1998 GMC seirra 1500 has had starting issues for the past 4 years. Most often when the truck was sat for days. Over those four years I have replaced plug wires, battery, fuel filter, and filler cap.

I have recently checked the ground wire at the filler neck and wire brushed and cleaned contact points. I replaced the fule pump relay.

The truck now has daily starting issues and today wont start at all. I have noticed that I cannot here the fule pump prime when I turn the key.

The last two " no starts" were resolved by banging the tank. When driving the last time the engine light came on but I noticed no loss of performance.

I dissconected the battery to reset.

Am I dealling with a dead fuel pump or more?

If I have a no start that is corrected by hitting the tan, I replace the fuel pump. Just check the relay and block for signs of overheating.
