Silverado Long Tube Headers W/high Flow Cats

Recommended Posts

Hey haven't posted in a while here... just got a new house, well 1st house. me and the girlfriend, were both 23 so its been a while since i have been able to spend time with the other girlfriend, my truck. always doing housework/ yardwork. sucks.. lol,

anyways i was looking at different sets of headers with catalytic converters, and i found some magnaflow, aem brute force, and some custom set that looks awesome:

http://www.clearimageautomotive.com/Chevy%...Y%20headers.htm

But thing is money is tight and i'm just looking for more performance, as all of us are. I also saw some OBX brand on ebay for $550 shipped to Canada. I wonder how these are?

But i also looked at long tube headers + y-pipe and i'm wondering since there's no cats, won't the check engine light come on all the time and i would get worse gas mileage?

For those headers, just remember you get what you pay for. If you don't have cats your check engine light will come on all the time and get worse gas mileage. I got around this by installing O2 simulators. I think you can get them through grandwest for $80. I would get a set of headers with cats because you won't lose really any horsepower with a good flowing cat.
