Tire Pressure Monitor Reset Question

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have changed the tires on my 2008 sierra 1500 to e-rated tires. They seem to handle and perform best at around 50 lbs pressure. I have read on this forum that there are dealers that will reset this for you and there are dealers that won't. I have a dealer that is willing to do it but can not figure out how and is not getting any help from gm corporate. If there is some one out there that can explain how to do this with the tech 2 so that I can pass it on to my dealer it would greatly appreciated. This is not a life or death issue just an annoyance that the DIC is telling me to check my tires because there is 53 lbs of air in them on a hot day. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I agree that you should be able to run 50 pounds in tires... especially E rated ones. Dealers are like any other group of people... some are sharp, some are idiots. You might want to try another one. Some tire shops are even equipped with programmers capable of solving the problem.
