Light Out On Dual Zone Climate Control

On my gf's 06 Sierra the light is out on the passenger side climate control, how can I fix this? Do I have to take apart the unit or is it just a light bulb? Thanks!

I have the same thing only some of my steering wheel controls are out 2. I've been told that unless your a electonics technician it's impossible, if it bugs you they are replacements on ebay.

I was hoping that it was just a simple light bulb. How much are the replacement units?

the bulbs in the climate control are soldered to the circuit board in side. they can be changed out i had to do a few in mine. i think you can even put leds in there to change the color. im not sure where to get the actual bulbs though i had a spare unit availible to get em out of. and im pretty sure a new unit from gmpartsdirect.com is like $120.

I had to have my unit changed out but I also have an extended warranty that covered it. Do you have an extended warranty?

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one. They have some electrical problems with these trucks or are using the cheapest LED's known to man.

 

On my '05 Silverado the radio has been changed 4 times cause of blown led's.

I finally put in my own radio after getting no satisfaction from GM.

Now the led blew on one of my gauges, and about a month after that the led on the passenger climate controls
