Alarm Tripping For No Apparent Reason

Recommended Posts

The vehicle is a 2003 GMC Yukon. It is 100% stock with no alarm mods or remote starter. The last few days, the alarm has been triggered for no apparent reason. The truck was sitting in the driveway with no one around it. We are able to turn it off with the FOB and there is no info on the DIC and it starts and runs without issue. Is it a door sensor that may be malfunctioning? I guess I am not even sure what events trigger the alarm. Thanks, in advance, for your insight.

I believe that is what I have heard in the past....the door sensors would degrade to the point of causing them to 'trip'
