Service 4wd

just out of curiosity about a week ago i did a little burning of the tires on a turn and all seemed well. Then I got home hung out till night time went to my truck started it up to go out and on the dic it said service 4wd i looked at it and it went away in like 5 seconds. So i got out smelled nothing burning or anything got under the truck dident hear anything out of the ordinary. So i got in and started driving. Dident hear anything out of the ordinary no clunking or anything. and i just started thinking does it mean the diff fluid or the tranny case fluid needs to be changed? anything i should look for or do? I havent changed any fluids or anything and it just hit 50000 miles. anything i should do or what? any help or insight would be appreciated. thanks again

my truck occasionally does the service 4x4 but usually does it after im muddin in 4x4 and spinnin the tires all over the place and goes away real quick.

so nothing really needs to be done then if it goes away?

this came up on my 07 tahoe, came on and off 3 times in one weekend.dealer looked at it and reflashed computer update.so far so good.only 8000miles on truck.
