Mirror Button Question

I have two buttons on my rear view mirror (2007 Sierra Classic), one says comp the other says temp. They both do the same thing, show the direction and oustide temp, or turn it off. I figured that the temp button would do this but the comp button? AM I missing something?

The temp button is I believe to turn the temp on/off and calibrate, and the comp is for compass on/off and calibrate. They should only turn on and off what is labeled on the button. If temp turns both off I dont think that is normal.

I have a 06, and I wondered the same thing, best I can come up with is that its 2 bottons that do the same function. kinda pointless I think, maybe mine is screwed up too!
