most of the time my truck fires right up instantly, but sometimes i have to keep cranking it before it fires and when it does start it takes a couple seconds to get up to proper idle rpm, kind of like its flooded, but this is random, and seems to happen only when it is warmed up after being driven then shut off and try to restart. any ideas?

sounds alot like a problem i had last month. after testing EVERYTHING i was left with replacing the whole distributor assy. there are lots of heat sensitive parts in a distributor(once they get hot, they gain lots of resistance) and it's cheaper to replace the whole unit than it is to rebuild. before doing this...... test test test, and clean that throttle body, clean the IAC, and IAC passages.

INjectors or fuel fuel pressure regulator, i`ve had to change two sets of both in the last few years, if you can get a way to depressure the fuel rail after its warm (without making a mess and smelling like a gas station attendant) let it sit .5 hour, turn key allow fuel pressure to come back up and see if it starts right away. that will tell you its a fuel prob. to determine if its the reg, you have to test the fuel pressure, should be 55-60 psi, if too high chenge reg or look for a vacuum leak in sense line. if okay consider your injectors to be leaky, are they the originals?, ITS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM...

two years ago i replaced the entire intake manifold assembly complete with injector/regulator assembly, iac, egr, throttle body, ect. it was a take off that was never used. i will check the fuel pressure and see what ive got.

i think i have also heard of the crank sensor faulting too, but the injectors and reg is just what happens most often....easy elimination too.
