I have a 07 serria crew cab 4x4 and am considering putting a bds 6' lift on it. I will be running 35's on it but would consider bigger if i could figure out how to stuff'em in the wells.

My question is regarding gear ratio's. I have read a few threads on here talking about changing gear ratio's. Do i need to do this with my 3:73's? I will pull a 3000lb boat occasionaly but not real far. 50 miles max.

Does anyone have any thoughts about the bds system? I would like to see some pics of on installed.

Thanks everyone

3.73s and 35s will be a lot of extra stress on your transmission, especially if you're going to tow. Not to mention, your fuel economy will suffer both loaded and not, and the truck will perform like ass. If you re-gear, 4.56s with 35s will be a similar ratio to 3.73s and stock tires.

Here's the link to a thread with a truck with a 6" BDS and a 3" BL.

Any idea of cost of the gearing change? I will get it done same time as i get lift installed. (next week)

Is it hard to change? I will consider doing it myself if not to bad.

Do not do it yourself, get someone to do it for you. It will be $1000+ for sure.
