Bypass Module?

I am going to install a python 990 in my 2001 Gmc Sierra. I was told that I needed a bypass module for the remote starter! HUH?!? Can someone shed some light on this for me please?

The module you need is made by DEI (the same manufacturer as the Python alarm and Clifford and a few others). It's the Passlock override module you need...I'm pretty sure you need the Passlock II module for an 01 but you'll need to check on which one is the correct version for your truck.
