Heated Seat Not Working Correctly....

Recommended Posts

Now that it is starting to get a little cold at night I have been using my heated seats. I'm not sure if the passenger side does the same because the women isn't in the truck late when I leave work. It will work good for the first 5 or 10 minutes and then shut off on me. I click it and it will go on for maybe 5 secs and then off. Then if I do it alot it will just turn on for a 1 sec. If I leave it for a few, it will go on for a few minutes then back off. I can hear a relay of some sort clicking on and off as well when the lights shut off. Seems to me something is heating up maybe. Any help would be great. Its on my 04 Silvy. Thanks

Sounds like a bad relay. I would replace it and see if that fixes the problem.

BTW - where do you live that you are using your heated seats in Aug?

Where is the relay?

I live in Western Mass. It got down in the low 40s here. Chilly enough when you only have on a dress shirt.

There are a lot of them located throughout the vehicle (my guess would be near the fuse box; listen for clicking noise when cycling the switch). Stop by an AutoZone type store parts store and ask them for the part and they can show you a wiring diagram on the computer. If not, you may need to buy a repair manual (or just look at one in the store or see if your local library has one).

Hope this helps and good luck.
