Hey all! Just wanted to take the time to say hello and let myself be known. I have been lurking for about the last 2 weeks. Really enjoying the forums. Anyways...

I am from Oak Hill, WV and just purchased my 08 Silver Birch Silverado 4x4 ext cab with the 5.3 and 3.73's. I worked in the GM product line (service advisor and service manager) for the last 10 years until recently starting a new job this past August. I thought it was time to start enjoying vehicles again so a career change was in order

I will try and throw a few pics up. Since these were taken I have added a bedliner, hood deflector, and window visors. Lots more on my list as time and money allow.

Look forward to talking with you all soon!

Steve

Wow, thanks for the quick welcome

Yeah I have plenty more plans for the truck. First on the list is a leveling kit and either a programmer or a tune. I will probably end up with the Edge since there are not any custom tuners close. Then maybe for Christmas a GMPP intake and exhaust if Santa (wife) allows. Anything else you folks recommend?

If you are going to go the tune route, get a custom tune. You don't need to be close to one to get a good tune. If you search, you'll find a ton of info on the options. Blackbear performance seems to be the current favorite. I'd suggest getting the intake and exhaust before the tune though.

The leveling kits are well worth the money and make the vehicle look like it should. I, and many others have the Rough Country kits and are very pleased. They are the simplest to install and by far the cheapest.

Color-matched handles and mirror caps would help, as would a color matched grill, bumper cap and bow tie. The bow tie at the very least should definitely get done! The bow tie on the rear... has to go, as should the rest of the badges and decals.

WeatherTech floor mats are the titties. The advanced two-way remote start is overrated.

There's a ton more but that's just a little off the top.

You made a wise choice. Only thing better would have been choosing the GMC. :P

Steve: From everything I've heard on here, no handheld can even come close to a custom tune. You don't need to live close to a tuner though, you can get a mail-order tune from any reputable tuner (Justin at Blackbear Performance, Charlie Wheately etc.) I've heard great things about Blackbear, do a search on here, and check out their site (www.blackbearperformance.com) and read the FAQ section.

Holy shit, I sound like a spammer. :P

Haha, this will definitely have to wait as I don't have an extra $21,000 laying around but it sure would be nice. I don't see the underwear with skid marks smiley on here.

I will search the forum about the tunes and may actually go with the intake and exhaust first. The Rough Country kit is the one I have been looking at for the level.

I did look for some GMC's but could not find one within a 150 mile radius that I really would have been satisfied with and I plan on being in it for awhile so I wanted to make sure it was going to be one I really liked before I pulled the trigger.
