Mazer18 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 How do you remove the bowtie from the grille of the GMT-900 Silverados? I believe there are two round holes, a pin that sticks through, and what looks to be like "clips" holding it on. I figured the clips just need to be pinched inward but I want to be sure first. Also, can this be done without removing the grille from the truck? Thanks.
minibike132 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 daddy why don't you write a tech wiki on how to take off all of the stinking badgers? Forget that question, it doesn't apply to post count does it.
minibike132 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Sorry Tyler I'm being a smart ass, I don't have an answer to your question I was just getting my thread jack dig in before it goes there. You'll get the right answer soon, there are SOME people here that can't stand any badges or logos on their truck so you'll get answered shortly.
alaska511 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 It just pops right off. There are 2 plastic tangs holding it on. Just be careful
Mazer18 Posted October 9, 2008 Author Posted October 9, 2008 I figured those tangs were all that held it on. Do you need pliers or anything or is hand squeezing enough? What do I need to be careful of; not squeezing to hard and breaking the tangs?
alaska511 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 I used a plastic door panel remover to lift the bowtie, and pry it. Pushed the tangs in with my thumb. Yes, a buddy broke one the tangs just prying it off from the front
