The service manual states that you can remove the master cylinder three bolts and clutch peddle assembbly just drops right out NOT! . At this point I have most the dash ripped out the bolts out of aluminum dash support bracket the brake support brakets loosened or removed. I can pry the dash but not enough. It ain't coming out, no way. I'm hoping that someone thats done this before can give me a pointer before I get destructive.

Thanks Red

Im assumeing this is the 2000 C1500 listed in your profile.

I thought those had the one where you had to remove the pushrod where its attached to the petal, then push in the spring loaded bushings(at the pivot) and remove it.

The peddle and support bracket does not come apart. The bracket broke out around where the master cylinder attaches in the engine compartment.

So your replaceing the bracket on the cowl panel going to the pedal assembly. Thats something I have no experience with that and can't find any SI on it.

Never had the dash or clutch assembly out of one that was not automatic. Sorry I'm no help.

From the picture though, it looks like the backet has two slots that could mount the bracket to the carrier if there were bolts in them pointing up.

do you have an exploded veiw showing the location of the mounting bolt bolts in the cowl support bracket? That would be a nawsome help. I would imagine that they are the same Auto or manual.

At home all I can get is this horrible image.

Maybe I can get an image from the parts dept(for some reason they let them see better pictures than techs) if nobody has helped you by then.

Thats the old body style , My 89 looked like that.. This one has two bolts that go forward into the fire wall and one that goes vertical into the cowl support bracket.

Thats why were not understanding each other...SI did not give me a choice on body styles, had to jump up to an 2001.

Says 3 bolts securing the clutch pedal to the brake pedal support module, and you have to disconnect and reposition the junction block...and reccomends removing the knee bolster and deflector(which I'm sure you have already done)

I'm assumeing you have aleady dissconnected the clutch and electrical connector.

You do not know how much I appreciate your help but I have one more faver If you don't mind look and see if you have a exploded view of the Big aluminum bracket that supports the dash and the steering column. I have acces to the manual at work but I cant get to it until Monday. If you could do that you would really be saving my bacon. By the way I added some Pictures above The bracket thats still in the truck is broken at the red arrow.

Thanks

It's amazing what eight hours of sleep and a better attitude will do and while trying to figure this out I ran across two other people online that were having the exact same trouble so I don't feel to bad. Although, I would recommend adding So someone else doesn't waste their day off pissed off. I suggest added one final line to the service manual that says:

*) pull clutch peddle assembly rearward towards the gauge cluster and drop the firewall end down and out

It won't look like it will come out that way but it will. Chineese handcuffs.
