Tuners In Southern California?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, noob here again. I've decided on a custom tune rather than a handheld programmer after reading a bunch of threads in here but I've also read it's better to get the tune in person if possible. I'm thinking Blackbear if I have to do this by mail but I figured I'd at least ask if anyone knows of a reputable shop in Ca. first. Blackbears prices are going up 11/1/08 per his site so figured I'd get it set up before then. Thanks guys!

P.S. I have an 2008 GMC K1500 with the VMax so I'm excited like Michael Jackson going on a camping trip with the Boyscouts!

I dont believe we have too many guys from CA here on the forum. From what it looks like, most of the activity comes from the east side of the country as well as canada with a few other nations chipping in. I would like to invite you to the Dallas Texas (actually Fort Worth) Blackbear Live tune, but I suspect that you would not be willing to make the journey across three states just to have it done. I know that Jennabear was telling us that some guys at GMFullsize.com were attempting to get a Blackbear Live Tune session started in CA. Not sure if you are apart of that group.

Thanks guys! I'll check out both links. and your right VMax... how about as excited "as" :D Since you've got the VMax would you say it's a huge difference with the tune? I am by no means going to hot rod it but I can't believe how bad it lugs on the hills around here before it downshifts so I want that changed too. The dealer won't reprogram shift points for me will they?

"huge difference" doesn't even begin to explain it. It's like a completely different truck. And it will be even better after my live tune from Justin. I don't "hot rod" or race my truck either, but it's a helluva lot funner to drive this way.

Alright Max, I'm sold now. I'll email them for info. since the post ended without a solid confirmation that he will be out here again.

Justin is in Temecula at least twice a year to teach his EFILive class. Since he just had it less than a month ago, I wouldnt expect him to have a class there for another 6 months or so.

He may be out in the Long Beach area Jan/Feb but nothing solid right now. What part of So. Cal are you in?
