88 G2500 Starcraft c9onversion...nice...excellent. Purchased 2000 with 68k miles.

Drove it to 126k...noticed possible front main seal leak...DEFINITE intake manifold leak...get 'er done..alls good 500 miles later..threw a rod...mechanic forgot to refill OIL.

YUP OIL. EX MECHANIC.

 

For the record a GMC 350 5.7l TBI will go at least 500 miles witout oil before death.

 

Ok new Jasper... alls good...noisy..what I thought lifters...put 700 miles on it..

think hmmm... to much noise...

Wed. drive 20 miles...nice smooth no problem...just noisy.

Jasper says get an oil press. check and we'll deal!!

Thursday turn the key and she's runnin' rough...awfull. Service eng soon ON.

 

Towed to NEW mechanic...pass. side Ex Manifold leaking like a sive...

 

I'm thinking EGR is shot as well as EXM is screwing up everything.

 

Yes the Man. was supposed to be new..I bought it...can't tell if the installer used it...

Great...[ every time I hire someone it reminds me DIY ]

 

Any help PLEASE....I use this Van for business..I'm a touring musician and I can not replace it for anything near what it has cost to do what I have done.

Insight will help stop cost over run from my new shop as they LISTEN to suggestions.

 

I am a capable mechanical and electronic tech... but avoid auto repair ...my hands! Ok Last time I was under A Jeep...2000 put the starter in reached for the wrench the damn thing cut loose and busted my nose:)(

 

Any insight would be appreciated.
