How Do U Install Drop Shackles

Jack and jackstands, some deep sockets, and a couple ratchets. Just get under the truck and look to see what size the bolts are are, and where everything is. Once you're under there, it's really self explanatory.

Basically, you put some jackstands under the frame, and support the axle. Unbolt the upper and lower shackle bolts, remove the shackle, and install the new shackle. You'll have to jack up the rear axle to install the new shackles.

Look at pages 8 and 9 of this thread and you'll see how it's set up, it's really pretty simple.

And thanks, where are you in Jersey?

EDIT: and just to clarify, I was replacing my leaf springs, not just the shackles that's why I took everything apart.

i live in point pleasant. and thanks, ill take a look at that. Also, why do most people say the shackles level out the trucks? i am doing 2 inch coils and the shackles for a drop b/c my truck sits level at stock height. does that seem right?

Your rear springs are probably sagging just enough so it sits level, that generation Tahoe/Yuk are notorious for having sagging springs.

so then the 2/2 will work as planned lol. u think i will rub with my 31x10.5 tires? i know the front should clear, just worried about back. i will be replacing tires in about a month or 2 with 255/60/15

I have no idea, never lowered anything. Clearing in the front is usually the hardest part though, so if you're good there, I don't THINK you should have any problems in the rear.
