Looking For Some Advice

Hello, I recently (within the past 3 days) Bought a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 v8 5.3L And am in a bit of a conunbrum. Mind you this is my first truck let alone vehical I have owned. I was talking to a buddy of mine and he said I should get a 2" leveling kit and then a 3" Body lift. I understand the concept, level it out then raise it. But Im stuck on how to go about it. Im looking for some link possibly as to do this also. Id love to slip on 35s but also am unsure how to do this because I heard that you buy the tire then slip it on to your rim but im rather confused on how to do this.

Any help would be greatly appreaciated

If you want to put on some 35's the easiest way is to put on a 6" suspension lift.

There's lots of threads in the forums on lifting. This subforum here Suspension Mods should have lots of info.

I would first think of your application. What are you going to use your truck for? Then what do you want it to look like? I have had the same thoughts but found that I enjoy speed and handling so I am leaving my truck at its stock 2wd lvl. This is of coarse my Daily Driver. For my buddies trucks that we use to plow they are actually lifted with heavy suspension and bag assist but that is because we constantly have very heavy loads on them. But what im trying to say yet again is think of what you want to do and alter from there.

if your truck is not level,,, you can adjust the front height to level the truck...then you must have wheel alignment as you will have too much toe...

if you want to add 6inches to height ..well I'll keep my comments to myself..
