Tranny Problems

I'm having some issues with the tranny on my 00 GMC Sierra. It has about 103K miles. I noticed in the morning after backing out of the drive way I placed it in drive to move forward and it didn't move for a while. It also did this on way home from work that afternoon. I was at a a stop light, it turned green I gave it gas, the truck didn't move then all of a sudden, I heard a clunk and it moved. I'm no expert so I took it to the mechanic shop services the truck. They wanted the truck left over night so they could check it cold, just in case. This same shop did a complete transmission service on my truck a few months ago.

Well this afternoon I got a call from the manager, he said that the truck had no codes and had the correct amount of fluid but the dip stick showed it was over filled, so they ordered a new one. I asked them they were the last ones to service the truck and maybe they installed the wrong dip stick. They said it was possible. They let me bring the truck home. It was fine until about a block from home I had noticed it took a while to shift. Any ideas on whay may cause the fluid level to be off?
