What Is The Best All Around Mud Tire?

Most of you guys have experince on all types of tires. I am looking for a new set of 33X12.50 I know the Toyos MTs are great they ride good and last long and are pretty quiet and very expensive. Anyone run the Mickey Thompson MTZ or ATZ or new BFG MT? If anyone has any input on these others or another brand of agressive on/off road tire please let me know I need a tire that can get on the interstate at 75 and lull me to sleep with a roar. But need something with enough lug to geat to my hunting camp on looging roads and pull my trailer with my trail/crawler rig to the campsite. so good road manners are important as weel as off road capabilities. I guess I need th best of both worlds I want to use a 17" or 18" wheel (07 4wd Yukon with 4" lift )so I can air down the tire if need be.

Thanks for the help

i love my mickey thompson mtz's, they howl like a banshee on the freeway, but that's what the volume up button on the radio is for :D

I've got the same tires, and they're actually quieter than I was expecting them to be. They do really well on both wet and dry pavement for a mud tire (mainly because of the siping), and obviously do well off road. They also kick ass in snow, again because of the siping. I have about 12k on mine, and they are wearing really well, I'm on pace to get close to 40k out of them.

Have Cooper Stt's on my new Chevy and on my old 94'. They are awesome in the snow and mud and aren't too loud on the road. The last set I had on my 94' lasted for about 55,000 miles.

The STT has a very similar tread pattern to the MTZ, and similar siping as well. Umberto (AllBlkdOut07) has the STTs, and his tires have been wearing almost identically to my MTZs. The MTZs are actually manufactured by Cooper.
