i'm installing my eclipse 7001 (after getting it repaired) for those who dont know its a indash monitor (LCD screen) it comes in 2 parts.. the screen unit with all the controlls which goes into the stock radio spot and a "brain" the problem i have is mounting the "brain" i'm limited by the length of din cable thats connects the 2 parts.  so far it looks like i'm going to lose my glove compartment since the cable wont reach to under the split bench. it would reach to under the seat on the hump area. but the split bench kind of rules that out.   maybe there is some hidden room somewhere else under the dash?

and i cant get a longer cable it seems. the local eclipse dealer is a POS and i dont want to call up eclipse and try and go direct to them (if they even make a longer cable.)  

so in the end the question is: is there any space in the dash area to mount something roughy the side of a single din sized cd player/radio?

I would check the local electronics supply house, or even Radio Shack, and see if they have a comparable cable you can use.  Should be a pretty standard deal, most of these manufacturer's can't afford or don't want to supply custom cables.

this is high end audio stuff cant get anything for it from a place like radio shack,only from the dealer.  but i figured it out with some little tricks i got it under the drivers side of the split bench.
