Security And Dome Light Stay On After Locking Doors

Just recently, when I start the truck and leave the dome light will come on and won't turn off. And also when I get out of the truck and lock it the dome and security light will stay on. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

Ok, dumb idea but your truck probably has logic built into it that if the dome light is left on for a period of time with the key off it will turn itself off. Maybe the dome light is manually turned on? If the engine is running the circuit would not disrupt the light so it would stay on as long as the key was on and if it eventually turns off (like after 10 minutes or so) it is probably being disabled.

 

That make sense?

 

Just FYI, my wife had this problem. She turned on both map lights and it acted like that.
