Shifter Knob

Hey,

Does the shifter knob come off on the newer style manual shifters in the S10's??? I seen an aftermarket one a few days ago that would look really good in my truck but i tried and it wont come off.. Will it???

It's glued on. You might get away with heat to take it off, but will most likely need to cut it off.

Is the end threaded?? I dont want to have to take it somewhere to have it done..

From what I recall, it isn't threaded.

If it's like the 4x4 shifter knob on the new silverado's you just have to wiggle it a bit and then give it a good yank.

no, the top of the shift is rectangular and in the knob there is a piece that sort of wedges it in place, so you have to give it a good yank to go.
