K&n Cold Air Intake - Trailblazer Ss - Is "tuning" Requi

Hey Folks!

 

I have a 2006 Trailblazer SS and I am considering purchasing a K&N Cold Air Intake Kit from E-Bay ($303.00 including shipping).

 

I have been reading mixed reviews on Cold Air Intakes for the Trailblazer SS if "Tuning" is required after installation.

 

I called K&N's Technical Question 1-800 number and was told that "Tuning" would not be required after a K&N Cold Air Intake was installed on my Trailblazer SS. The Chevrolet Dealership who can install this K&N Cold Air Intake for $75 also claim that "Tuning" won't be required.

 

After doing some research on the web, I have learned that some people feel a "Tune" is necessary. http://ss-shootout.com/first-mods.html

 

Can someone help me out? Ideally, I would like to add a K&N Cold Air Intake but I don't want to re-program the computer on my Trailblazer SS. Any opinions will greatly be appreciated.

No, your stock MAF sensor has plenty of range to cover the minute amount of added airflow your engine will receive due to a K&N CAI.
