windshield cleaning

I'm having a hard time cutting through all the bugs and road junk that gets on my windshield. i've been told everything from onions to newspaper to alcohol and vinegar.

i know that there are as many "secret recipies" for windshield cleaners as there are people out there, but what do yall use and how do you use it???thanks!

For the exterior I just use good old soap and water and a squeegee....interior I use newspaper with vinegar and water...newspaper is the key I think...!!

For the exterior just some car wash usually does the trick, if that doesn't get it you can get some bug and tar remover gel from your local checker auto that seems to work quite well.

I use Rain-X in my washer fluid and it seems to make it easier to clean the windshield.

why newspaper? i would think that somehow the ink would cause problems and the fact thats its really really really really recycled paper wouldnt help things.

I use one of those "bug sponges" for the exterior, and on the inside I use Cinch and a coffee filter instead of newspaper. Usually just steal one from work, but you could buy some if ya wanted.

Exactly JSJ! I use the rain-ex washer fluid too and the bugs come off with my wash mit...
