01 Sierra Cold Engine Knock

Actually I have both an 01 Sierra and an 02 Suburban and both have a cold engine knock when started. Most time is goes away within a minute and I let them warm enough to not hear it before driving, but the Sierra seems to have a knock that is lingering. Bummer with that is that it only has 72000 miles on it as of now. Is there a bulletin or anything that I can do for a remedy? I'm not really sure if its on the top of the engine or in the pan. I wish I could tell where the best place to start working on this was.

This has been discussed 1,000 times. I would use a good oil filter with the anti-drain valve, or whatever it's called. You could do a search.

A good de-carbon might help your lingering knock. But the cold start knock that goes away was kind of standerd eguiptment on these trucks.
