Oil Consumption 8.1 Engine (sealant On Im Bolts?)

Purchased 2004 Suburban with 55k miles on odometer. Now have 57k miles on it. Changed oil from dino to synthetic (5W-30). Consumes oil at the rate of ~one quart per 1k miles (understand GM considers this normal oil useage for the 8.1). There are no external engine oil leaks. Not seeing blue exhaust which to me would indicate using oil. Verified intake manifold bolts are black color not silver color from factory.

While at local dealership, was talking to parts and he indicated that there is a Service Bulletin for 2004 Kodiak and Suburban with 8.1 engine to use a teflon sealant on intake manifold bolts due to wicking of motor oil. I've not yet removed spark plugs to check their condition single digit temps in the evening here. Is anyone familar with this bulletin which speaks to using sealant on the intake bolts?

Thanks,

Terry
