He's sending me the product literature for all the NFAB stuff.  He's been working on patents and stuff and getting a new website up.  

 

For those who have the NFAB nerf bars.  What do you think.  Easy install?  worth the price?  seem durable?  Reccomend it to your friends?  Any problems?

I love the NFABs and would highly recommend them to people.  They are pretty expensive black, and the chrome are VERY expensive.  Ease of install, I don't know as I had the shop where they make them install them.  But, it seemed easy enough (if you have a drill!)

 

They are very durable, for a light framed person.  If you are upwards of 300lbs, I would probably get a frame mounted nerf bar.

Tom and Mike are awesome at NFAB. Their Nerfbars are actually the highest rated in the business. I am told by them that they will support upwards of 425lbs. Here is the catch though- Standard mounting of the bars involves 6 bolts along the rolled lip of the undercarriage..... or you can beef it up by mounting 8 extra carriage bolts through the body. They told me standard procedure was to not usually use the extra bolting, but they are there if you look under the truck.  Mine were $400 (including Free Shipping and no tax as I am out of state). I thought it was pretty reasonable when you start looking at the CPS Westons for 349.00 plus anywhere from 25-90 in shipping and handling. Not to mention these guys at NFAB are awesome......

I will snap a pic tonight on the mounting. Imagine a Backwards F The top part of the F mounts up against- I want to say floor board- the bottom part of the F mounts just under the ridge of the side body. It's where there are about 5 pieces of metal that all come together. It's actually a patented mounting process according to Tom.

 

I'll post some new ones hopefully tonight....

Before you count them out, take a look at the pics tomorrow. I just might be describing them wrong, or call Tom or Mike at NFAB 281-681-0022. Tell them Patrick Stewart told you to call.... they will be able to answer your question straight away.

Cool, that's pretty much how I imangined them being installed.  On the top part, are they secured to the floor, or is it just resting up against it?

It looks kinda nice and neat, however i still dont really like it :)

 

Did someone say that there are optional parts that allow you to bolt to the frame?

 

I dont think there is sufficient bracing for lateral/front to back movement like frame mounted bars (Smitybuilt) have.

Doh, I just re-read your earlier post Henry.  I thought you said you had hoped they "would" mount to the body.  Sorry.  ???

Patrick, could you email me the pdf file of the brochure?  I have the bars, but would love to see the brochure.

 

And, I think the mounting is to the rocker panel.  I think that is what it is called.  I could be mistaken.  I like that look, because with the body lift, it makes the body lift less obvious.

      You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.

      You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
