Well..last night I was downloading some music on iTunes in the basement around 10:30 or so when I felt the ground shake and my whole house rattle..I'm like wtf was that? I ran upstairs (first thing I checked was my truck..of course) and my g/f was on the phone and we were both like whoa. First thought was a huge tree had fallen on my truck..ha..Felt and sounded like the aftermath of a huge explosion. I looked outside and I could see my neighbors turning lights on opening doors, talking.

I apparently experienced my first (and hopefully last) earthquake. I realize it only measured 3.0, but that was pretty scary. Who else in my area felt it too?

One of the other joys of living in Alaska...constant earthquakes.

They add spice to your stress level.

You know the old saying "It's just like anything else, you get used to it after awhile"

I guess the first one freaks you out, I had no idea wtf happened.

Yes, I remember the feeling. It is quite unnerving. Hang in there, bud!

My first quakes were in San Diego when I was a little kid, but I can't remember them.

Why would you worry about that? I thought your "evil" badass truck could handle a little ole earthquake and/or a tree falling on it.

I've never experienced one, but there were three or four somewhere in Arkansas last week. According to history books, we're due one on the New Madrid fault that runs near the Mississippi River where Arkansas and Tennessee border. Apparently, last time that one hit, the Mississippi ran backwards for a while because it was so violent.. I'm hoping we don't have to deal with that in my lifetime, or ever!

Alaska, what's the status on that volcano that was threatening to erupt last week?

If we were to experience an another seismic event similiar to what happened in 1811/12 along those fault lines, it would make Katrina seem like just a bad thunderstorm in terms of natural disasters...

Yea, I don't care if it was a BLACK Walnut, BLACK Spruce, BLACK Cherry, etc., that tree would be no match for your truck! :D

Yes sir.. I'd feel it down here in Texarkana and you'd feel it over there in Stillwater! It'd be a disaster..
