Driver Side Heated Seats Are Possessed

My 04 Silverado driver side seat heaters turn themselves on and off and cycle through the settings at random. This used to happen only after a rainstorm where the truck sat outside. Now, it's starting to do it randomly, pretty much at any time, even in sub freezing weather (Chicago area).

I've taken the door panel off and inspected the switch module, even to the point of disassembling it and cleaning the switch contacts with alcohol. The Door panel plastic protective sheet is intact and I even wrapped the door switch module with electrical tape at the housing seam. This same module has the seat memory buttons and they don't seem affected.

Question 1: is this a smart door control module or just a switch? And is this likely the problem? Cost?

Question 2: How the heck do I disable the seat heater? I've located a fuse called "IGN3/SEAT HEATER" in the interior fuse panel at the driver side end of the dash. Seats still activate. I can hear a faint relay click when it activates, but can't locate it. there has to be a control relay, fuse or CB that I can remove to disable this.

Any help would be appreciated. This one has me stumped.

OK, I've searched the site and have found an identical problem identified back in 2005. That thread contains ALL, and I mean ALL the problems I've noticed about these seats. Mine turn on at random after a highly humid period like rain or even if it's freezing out after a rainy period.

I also have experienced the phantom heat described later in that post where it feels like the seat back is heated, but no switch LED is indicating anything.

It appears that thread never ended with a successful solution to the seat issue. Is there anyone out there that has ever solved this sort of problem? I'm going to try the solder re-flow suggestion on the door switch module since that seems to make sense.
