Factory Service Manuals Pay For Themselves!

Recommended Posts

Every time I buy a new car/truck, the first thing I do is get a factory service manual.

And I did this with my truck. It cost around $140 at the dealer, but I said go ahead and order "it".

As it turned out, "it" was "them"! 4 factory service books total!

One book on general maintenance, one computer stuff, one wiring diagrams in a big book, and one to tear down and repair individual components.

These have paid for themselves in the first month. I had several things to fix which I could not have without these manuals. In several cases it was just "Where is the darn thing located!" Like the back-up light switch, the panel temp gauge sensor, and the battery power distribution.

Or how do I take something apart. Says how to.

Then my car air bag light started blinking. I counted the blinks, looked in the manual, and sure enough the problem was in the area it said. (Steering column clock spring.)
