Built In Remote Starter?

I have been told by other GM owners that my truck 2006 2500HD 6.0 Quad has a factory installed remote starter. However you need to purchase the "remote starter" and all the dealer does is enter some code to activate it. Is there any truth to what I am being told?? Please shed some light on this. Thanks

Unfortunately, you're going to be disappointed. Awakening the factory remote start feature in the '07 and later trucks is possible if it's the new body style (not the Classic). I've been hearing that the '09's have to be factory installed, rather than dealer installed.

"Awakening the factory remote start feature" I like the wording. And yes I am disappointed I was really hoping.
