Torque Converter Replacement?

Recommended Posts

So I went to the dealer a month or so ago for them to look at what I thought was the RMS leak. They agreed that I had an oil leak but could not find the source of it. The tech put some oil dye in it and told me to bring it back when I noticed the leak again (it was a slow leak and has yet to drip). I finally had the time to get it back to the dealer today. I dropped it off this morning and they called this afternoon and said they have ruled out an engine oil leak. They were still unsure the exact cause but diagnosed it as something with the torque converter (I thought he said the pump was causing a leak?) I'll be the first to admit that I know nothing about this topic but I'm not sure I have heard of this before. Has anyone else? The truck has less than 8,000 miles on it by the way.

My leak looked identical to the RMS leak that others have had replaced so I thought for sure that was all it was.

The truck won't be done until tomorrow at the earliest so they gave me a Caddy to drive until the trucks finished. :D
