2003 Envoy Heating/air No Air Volume

This is regarding my 2003 Envoy where I have a heating problem.

All seem to be working fine, blower seems to be running fine in all setting, engine temperature is there, but I have not enough volume of air entering the cabin, as compared to when vehicle was new.

The results (in those cold days) is that it takes some time to warm up the vehicle, even when the blower is on full blast.

Looks to me like someting is restricting the air flow.

Now, I had experienced something like that on 1990 Corsica, where either the heating or air core would just build up with dust and only allow wery little air. Remedy was to open the cover on the fire wall and clean the core. In the 10 years life of that vehicle I did it twice. It was not easy to do, since there was so little room between engine and firwall.

I think this is similar problem on this 2003 ENVOY, especially that I have always smell a coolant around this vehicle. I am not loosing any coolant, but sure can smell it after each trip.

I think I might have some coolant sweating in the heater core, that makes it sticky and attracts dust and bulids up dusts, (as I have seen this before) and restrict the low volume of air.

Has anyone experienced that, if not, has anyone work on heating cores on this vehicles and would point me in the right direction as for inspecting, cleaing air passages, or replacing heater core.

Thanks,

Ziggie

In cabin air filter clogged?

Well, that would be most logical, funny, after 6 years I think this 2003 ENVOY does not have in cabin filter, if it does, that would be bummer, lol,

I am going to over manual and repair manual.

I'm not sure if it does or not myself... Never even been in an Envoy. It would be a logical place to look. let us know.
