Debadging 06

If I debadged my 06, would there be an issue with paint fading compared to the area under the badge due to age? I would like to debadge the truck; however, not if the paint would show. Also, can the chrome strips that run through the door be removed, or is there clips holding it on leaving holes (or recessed areas) in the body.

You will be perfectly fine. I de-badged my truck when it was 8 years old, and there was nothing other than a little wax buildup. Just hit it with some polishing compound if there's any outlines.

And the moldings are just stuck on with the same doublesided tape as the badges.

DO IT! :jester:

You should debadge it. You don't want anybody to know that you have a GM product. And like was said you won't be a ass backwards redneck lol. Now if your truck was a silverado I wouldn't debadge it. :jester::D:D

You'll be ok. Besides, leaving badges and decals on means your a white trash slack-jawed yokel.

well damn, I can't have that...oh wait, guess that means I need to rid my front yard of my old appliances and hide the wheels on my mobile home :jester:

On a serious note, is dental floss the best approach to debadging?

I use high test fishing line.

Dental floss is not strong enough. I have heard fishing line works good though. I just use my fingers, 3M Adhesive Remover and a 6" steel scale (very carefully).

I peeled my 4x4 stickers off with my finger nails...of course that was only last summer and my truck was already 8 years old.
