Questions About Going To The Dealer

ok guys so my truck is going the the dealer soon my interior door is falling apart and the truck has a rough idle "shakes" when stoped at a light so it needs to go in my question is i have a true flow intake.. should i take it off?? will it void the warranty?? any things i should have checked out such has any up dates?? re-flashes??

If it was just a door thing I wouldnt worry about it, but seeing that its an idle problem, they are going to blame in it on the TB and said that its dirty and thats because of the intake....

The thing is if it is the TB, it probably is because of the intake, its not just an excuse.. take it off for sure y risk it.

Its not unusual for the TB to get carbon on the blade and stick a little causing the rough idle. In your case, I return the intake to stock. The dealer could give you some hassle, but they should know better that its not the cause.

Its not unusual for the TB to get carbon on the blade and stick a little causing the rough idle. In your case, I return the intake to stock. The dealer could give you some hassle, but they should know better that its not the cause.

Do you think that the filter on that intake filters as good as the stock air box and paper filter?? It doesnt...

I have owned a half dozen rides with aftermarket intakes, so im not necessarily dogging them, but K+N doesnt filter down to the same micron as an oem paper.. look it up.

I forget the specs right now but I have seen the tests..

Thats more than enough for me to deny your warranty claim if I was a dealer, just think like they do. its an easy way out.. some dealers are smart enough to do the warranty work anyway and collect the money from GM, but with the current situation with GM its going to be harder to find those dealers

yeah ill be changing it out soon. and so should i just clean the TB?? the pass door is just shaking lose. i did some research and some said it might be some vac-lines?? whats the reflash that i keep hearing about?? is it a computer update??

I dont know about the reflash.. I know that occasionally my 08 5.3 will idle a little funky, but so does every truck ive test driven.. titans were real bad, f150s do it too.

I would still take it to the dealer.. dont do it yourself, because it could be a waste of time.. u paid for that warranty when u bought a new truck.. get some use out of it!!! Its not too hard to put the other intake on is it??? Im asking because I dont know..
