Question
Mad Mac
My apologies in advance if this off forum. We bought a used home made trailer (never again) and one wheel bearing totally self destructed. I recovered enough of the inner and outer bearings to get replacements and found a seal by trial and error, but something must be missing from the back of the hub because the inner bearing seal is in plain view and the bearing won't draw up snug. The hub has K23 on it and another part number that is very difficult to make out, possibly 3963886. It is a disc brake and has no splines, so it must be a front disc brake hub and resembles other GM hubs like the K21 and A2.
I would get the missing part from a junk yard or a dealer, but I do not know what vehicle application to get it off of. A search of several large junkyards in Houston produced no other K23 hubs hanging out in the breeze but I noticed that rotor splash guards still on the spindles had a built in collar. Maybe that is what I need. I can provide photographs and bearing numbers if that is any help.
Thank you and have a good weekend.
