Robby Gordon

Well, I'm gonna have to say something that I never thought would ever come out of my mouth.  I think his comments after the race were pretty dang cool.  I'll tell you what, if he keeps it up acting like this I might actually start to like him.  I can hardly believe I found myself rooting for him at the end, but then again look who he was racing, that other Gordon.  Anyway, I just had to say that after today, I don't think he's as bad as I did.  And if he keeps this attitude it won't be long beore I might even like him.

I have to say I'm suprised, in a good way. I may like him yet.

I was almost hitting the ceiling jumping up and down with excitement after the incident when Gordon was whining "Whaa, I should take him out right now! Whaaa" and got "the flag".:(

Thats was the moment I've been waiting for, for 5 years. Whoo hoo!

Sorry Bill89, Bowtiefan, and all other Gordon fans, but that was one of the happiest moments in my life. :D

Edit: Tom, Where's your post?  ???

Something happened last night and it didn't show up, actually a couple didn't.

I don't even remember what I said now.  :(

I was glad to see him win. I always like first time winners. I'm not a big RG fan, but what happened out there was racing. JGordon seems to have forgotten Bristol (Tony Stewart) and Richmond (Rusty Wallace) when it comes to going for the win. Shoot, he didn't even hurt Jeff with the tap. JG could have fought his way back up and returned the favor, but he let his temper get the best of him.

One of my friends was there listening on the scanner. JG wanted to park the car and Loomis wouldn't let him. Loomis told Gordon,"That's not how a Champion conducts himself." So he made him stay out on the track.

I also think we have seen RGordon's only win. I have no confidence in him from what the past has shown.

The jury is still out in my opinion on Kenny and Mike Wallace.

It's ok General, we know that the race didn't really mean anything but just a friday drive.  Weather it was Jeff or not that was dirty racing on Robby's part.  And I wish that Jeff would have taken him out.  Just to show him that he can't push his way around in NASCAR!!!!

Well, I posted before that Robbie Gordon didn't deserve the benefit of the doubt, but after that race on Friday, I feel like I have to eat some crow.  Robbie Gordon acted like the 4-time Winston Cup champion and Jeff acted like a litte BABY!!!  I was at the race and to see the @#$!%$HIT!! that Jeff Gordon pulled was amazing.  Not only did he go out of his way to run into Robbie, but he hit him like 3 or 4 times.  I hope he gets the big fine he deserves, although I know it won't even dent his pocketbook.  I was truly amazed at Robbies cool, calm nature on Friday, he was not even shaken when after Jeff hit him.

BTW:  The place went absolutely crazy after that turn 4 incident!!!! :notice:

I bet it did!

I kind of liked seeing Jeff Gordon showing some anger.  It was something you havn't seen very often, at least to that extent.

Weather it was Jeff or not that was dirty racing on Robby's part.

He barely tapped him, and it could've very well been an accident since JG slowed up.  Even if it wasn't, it was nothing that 40 other drivers don't do every week.  I watch Dale Earnhardt barely tap people all the time.  I've seen JG do it, I've even seen those two and many other veterans do it alot harder and nobody siad anything.  It's only a big deal because it happened to Jrff Gordon and everybody thinks he is gold or something.

After hearing about him wanting to park the car I've found one more reason to not like him.  He's nothing but a spoiled brat you can't handle it if he doesn't get his way.  I wonder how many times when he was a kid he said "I'm gonna take my ball and go home!"  I wish he would, if he's gonna act like that.

I'm a fan of #24, and this was a big year, Brickyard 400, Kansas, WC points championship, No-Bull Million etc....

And of course I didn't like it when Robbie tapped him. But I still agree with most of the comments above. Wasn't so hard of a tap, but it did put him into the #12 car. I also agree he possibly could have fought back to a 2nd or 3rd place finish. But turning his anger and acting like an unremorseful Tony Stewart is something he'll admit to regretting, later.

As for Robbie, never been a big fan until I saw him do something at the Kansas race, sign 200-300 autographs for those desperate fans who paid $5 bucks extra to line up six deep behind the fan center fence, looking into the garage area. They put slots in the fence so drivers can stand on the other side and sign autographs. The whole weekend, he was 1 of about only 3 who did.

But as a youthful racer, he wrecked lots, but ran with the best of 'em at Indy, where he led, won Detroit Gran Prix, and you can't forget all those offroad victories. Brash and versatile, he's ripe to be a factor if he gets on a streak. He has the whole off-season to savor, pump his confidence before Daytona. His best ride he screwed up with Derrick Walker. I think he's matured, and with the tutelage of Richard Childress, I look for him push Harvick, possibly into the 2nd spot on the team. Just my $0.02

Robby Gordon obviously has a world of talent. In indy cars, off-road, road courses he has proven himself. Now that he has won on an oval in a stock car there may be no holding him back. He is so impatient and arrogant. I wouldn't think that Richard Childress would be a good teacher in the area of patience and humility, but maybe he is. Or maybe it is Gil Martin. I think that Robby knows that this is his last chance and has chosen to finally grow up. If he can keep this attitude, and has good communication with Gil he will be a force to be reckoned with in 2002. What's the best way to cook crow, and what veggies go with it?

And think of this.

It only took him 5-10 races to accomplish what Mike Skinner never did in 5 years. That has to say something itself......

I also agree w/ Elwood in the "dirty racing" argument. There's no way Robby knew that JG checked up, there's no Brake lights in these cars (there probably should be).

Hilarious!!!

:D

I'm a #28 fan also. But I really like for Dale Jarrett to race the big brown truck. :(

Great looking Avalanche by the way.

Hey quadrunner-He's NOT gonna drive the truck!

How about some pie?

Actually there were a few races where I thought he would have finished higher if he WAS driving the big brown truck...
