07 Sierra With 09 Style Backup Camera

First off I'd like to thank BlackGold....as you remember a couple of weeks ago there was a post about using the 09 Silverado/Sierra Tailgate Bezel to mount a Boyo VTK Backup Camera....anyway after taking a look at his pictures, I decided I'd give this a try myself....my first backup camera wasn't all that great in terms of quality, and I'm always looking for a factory look if I can make it happen.....

Anyway I got mine finished up and installed today...so here are the pictures. I sanded and painted mine white to match the truck....the bezel comes Black and Textured from the factory.

No you can still not see the Bumper or the Trailer Hitch for that matter....this camera is only 120 Degrees which I guess doesn't even come close to the factory camera because they mount pretty close to the same however you can see the Bumper/Hitch with the GM Camera....

Looks great, Travis!!!

Now, let's talk about those badges on the tailgate.

Well If I take any badges off it would be that damn Flex Fuel One....the Black/Yellow Paint on the Badge just keeps flaking off....

Thanks  The truck was not ordered with Factory Nav...but the Factory Nav was sitting on the Desk waiting for the truck to come in....I wasn't crazy about spending the $2250 that it costs out of the factory....so I opted for a Takeout, Had It Programmed and have about only $900 bucks in everything...

That looks sweet. I've got a jacked up rig, and wish I had the backup camera like on the Tahoe Denali. So if I have the factory Nav (which I do), is there a quick link in the rear of the vehicle to hook this up? Could I purchase the factory camera and hook it up? If not, how much should I look to spend on a decent aftermarket cam?

Thanks,

Nick

Nick,

I did all of this for about $200....The bezel for the Tailgate Handle was like $23 bucks....probably spent $30 in Paint/Supplies....Camera and Cables were about $100...the Dealer Programing was $50...

Basically you will need to buy the Back Up Camera harness...that has an RCA hookup for the Rear Camera....then run that RCA to the Rear of the Truck and make your connection to the Camera....then simply hookup your power and ground to the camera....
