I have a 2000 model suberban and the 4wd buttons are not engaging some times I see the 2H light comes and goes,this happened after I removed the 4wd gear box due to leak in engine oil seal so I have to remove the transmisson and the 4wd gear box if I can call it so

please if there and adjustment to the cable feed me back more over I some times hear like gears will engage when reducing speed.
