Tranny Slip?

I think I am losing my tranny. When taking off from a stop it will rev slightly then slam into first. I have flushed and changed the fluid less than 5000m ago. It is an '03 2500hd 6.0L. Have you had this happen or have any ideas?

 

Also the steering wheel started making a sqeaking or rubbing nose and now it does not lock with the key out. Any help on either of these would be very helpful.

Could be the TC on the tranny.

Mine did this also, it eventually went out. Little metal shavings in the bottom of the tranny pan. It only had 49,000 miles on it. After haggling with GM, I decided to replace it with a 3 year warrantied tranny for roughly $3,000. The other option was to rebuild the planetaries for around $1500-2000 with only 1 year warranty.

yikes, i thought i was the only one. 2001 2500 HD w/ the alison. When i approach a turn and slow down, then roll thru turn, for example, then give it gas, its as if its in neutral-- RPMs jump then BAM, it goes into gear and drives as if nothing is wrong. Or if i roll up to a 4-way stop and pause for just a second, then go it'll do it also once in a while. Spooky........ This is not a regular deal; rather, it occurs without warning and no pattern discernable.

 

about 80k on the tranny...

On my '01 6.0L I had this problem under warranty. Surprisingly it happened to the service manager that evening when he moved my truck and then to the tech in the morning. I was lucky that I didn't get the "could not duplicate" answer from them. They uploaded a new program to the computer and the problem was gone... I sold the truck to my buddy when it was 4 years old and had 18K on it... he now has 65K on it and still has no problems!

did you ever get the tranny fixed? i have 2001 2500hd 8.1 alison that dose the same thing.

i had my tranny slipping yesterday....

 

went out and measured it, i was 5 liters short on fluid

 

i then went "under" to check the problem and i´ve got a leak between the tranny and the tcase !
