Underdrive Pulley Kit

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone has installed an underdrive pulley kit on the NNBS trucks?

Was there any clearance issues?

What was a good supplier to go through for the part?

Is it worth it price vs performance?

Has anyone seen more stress on electrical system/water pump because of slower turning of them?

Thanks

ASP or SLP are good brands. Can't help you with the install on the GMT900 install. For about $250-300 for an ave gain of 10HP.

Ive used slp in my past vehicles. Was thinking about adding one to my truck.

I've got a set of ASP pulleys for mine, I just haven't installed them yet. The one I have is an underdrive for the crank/balancer, and an overdrive pulley for the alternator. That way the electrical system takes no hit, but it still slows the A/C, PS, water pump, and the idler/tensioner.

It doesn't look like there should be any clearance problems, but we'll see how it goes when I get ready to install.

One thing, don't forget to also pick up a new crank bolt and front seal when doing the install. You'll need them along with your new belts.
