2009 Sierra Sl 4x4 - Bluetooth

I have a new 2009 Sierra SL with no options. I noticed on GM's site you can add bluetooth as a standalone option to the SL but mine didn't have this. Can I buy a part and install it or is it more complex than that? Thank You

I know you said you do not have options, but do you have onstar and steering wheel controls? The bluetooth is built into the onstar in the 09. I have read a few posts on here that people are trying to take the 07 and 08 onstar and upgrade to the 09 as it has the bluetooth built in. I read one successful mod and the guy had to replace the vcim, add a bluetooth antenna and have it programmed by the dealer

I should clarify. When I said "no options" I meant I have a base SL truck with nothing added. If I go online and build one it allows you to add bluetooth (seperate from Onstar service although it may use the mic...not sure). Just was curious since this is an "option" for the 2009 Sierra's if I could add it now.

Welcome to the site! :)

Our search feature works well here and usually supplies solid information: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?...hlite=bluetooth

Thanks for the tip. Not to get off topic here but.... I always search before posting new topics on web forums. The results yielded mostly information on pre-2009 vehicles and adding bluetooth. There was a mix of information that really caused more confusion than it was worth. I thought it might be a good idea to post a question regarding my specific situation.

No worries, most people don't so we just assume no one does. :P

This thread has the best information regarding your question. The title says '08 but later in the thread there is a lot of discussion surrounding the '09's and adding Bluetooth to non-equipped trucks.
