Opinions On Transgo 4l80e - Hd2 Kit...

Hey All,

 

I am thinking about putting one of these reprogramming kits into my new (to me) 2002 suburban k2500 with the 8.1. It has about 74K miles and seems tight and in good shape.

 

I plan to use this Sub to pull my 7000 lb +/- trailer, so wanted to "upgrade" the trans for improved performance and durability.

 

Personally, I don't mind crisp shifts, but wondering just what the quality of the shifts are with this kit when used in the RV/HD mode? My wife will drive this thing around to haul the kids from time to time, so I want the thing to be civilized too. I am a bit concerned that the kit may make the shifts a little too rough, so would be eager to hear how this kit may have worked out for others who have used it.

The 4l80e is bombproof as it is, I'm not sure it's worth updating. Maybe a custom tune is all you need.
