2007 Nbs Towing Trip

Well I towed with my truck the first time this memorial weekend and I have to say it did a pretty good job. I have the 5.3 with 4.10's. The trailer probably weighed around 5500 lbs or a little more or less. I was right between 2300-2800 rmps most of the time seems like the sweet spot. I averaged 10.5 mpg not bad in my book. It was through the moutains so lots of ups and downs. Just thought I would share.

I have to add also that I installed tow mirrors before i took it out and man does that make a difference.

Alaska what is your setup Enigine, gears and do you have airbags on yours? Just curious cause im looking into getting some and just wanted an opinion on them.

I've only been out once so far this spring. May longweekend, it was cold and wet, but who cares! ;)

I see that you have tow mirrors on your truck. I am looking to add them to mine. I believe that they would have been an add on. Can you tell me how much further they stick out when they are IN than the stock 07 mirror? Thank you

They stick out a good few inches...I hit the fence when I back up my 8x12 utility trailer in a 10' wide fence area (next to side of house)...They are pretty tough suckers, I once brushed it into a concrete piling while trying to park in a tight spot and I thought for sure it was gonna break, but all it did was crack the plastic slightly and it's not even visible unless you press hard on the side.
